Gujarat’s medical admission committee has published the allotment for the 88 MBBS and BDS seats left vacant after four rounds of counselling. The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) put up the special stray round lists on Friday evening, November 6, and candidates who got a seat have until November 16 to report.

What the allotment covers

The round, officially Round 5 of Gujarat MBBS and BDS admissions, offered 56 MBBS seats and 32 BDS seats from the state quota. The seats are in government and private medical and dental colleges across the state, including colleges affiliated to Gujarat University.

The committee published two lists on its portal, medadmgujarat.org: one arranged by merit and one by institute. Candidates can open either PDF and search for their NEET UG roll number or merit number. The vacant seat list was updated on November 5, and the allotment followed a day later, at 5:30 pm on November 6.

Who could take part

This was a closed round. Only candidates who had given consent for the fourth online stray vacancy round and had not been allotted a seat there could take part. No fresh registration was allowed.

Those candidates had to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 3,00,000 by 3:30 pm on November 4. The money went through the committee’s online payment gateway, or by cash or demand draft at designated HDFC Bank branches. A candidate who gets a seat in this round and does not join loses the full deposit plus a Rs 10,000 penalty, a total of Rs 3,10,000.

What allotted candidates must do now

Allotted candidates must first pay the tuition fee, and only at a designated HDFC Bank branch. Payment anywhere else does not confirm the seat. They must then report to the Help Centre with original certificates. Copies on DigiLocker are not accepted.

The reporting deadline is November 16, 2026. Candidates should check the admission documents checklist before travelling, so they arrive with every document the Help Centre asks for.

Why 88 seats were still empty

Gujarat counselled 8,452 seats this year, 7,233 in medical courses and 1,219 in dental courses. Four rounds ran before this one, and the fourth round, held from October 21 to 26, filled all 223 seats on offer. Even so, 88 seats stayed vacant after the deadline to confirm admission passed.

The Ahmedabad Mirror reported that most of the vacant seats are in the management quota, and that fees of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh put students off confirming. Admission committee sources told the paper that some government quota seats stayed vacant for the first time.

What comes next

If BDS seats are still vacant after this round, the committee has said it will hold a further online stray round. The national schedule for state special stray rounds ran from November 3 to 7, with joining by November 16.

The all-India round ran on the same dates. The MCC published its final special stray vacancy result on November 6, a day ahead of schedule, with reporting also closing on November 16.

The allotment lists and the reporting notice are on the official ACPUGMEC portal.
