Doctors who picked up a seat in Gujarat’s first round of postgraduate medical counselling have one day left to claim it. The Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses, or ACPPGMEC, has set November 6 as the last day for Round 1 allottees to pay their fees and report. A seat not claimed by then is cancelled.

The committee allotted 2,688 seats in Round 1, covering MD, MS, Diploma and DNB courses across government, grant-in-aid, self-financed and private medical colleges in Gujarat. The merit list carried 6,094 candidates, and 5,847 of them took part in choice filling between October 27 and 31.

359 seats still vacant

Not every seat found a taker. After Round 1, 359 seats remain vacant: 180 under the government quota, 177 under the NRI quota and two under the management quota. Those seats go back into the pool for Round 2, and registration for the next round opens on November 6. The committee will publish the vacant seat matrix before Round 2 choice filling begins.

Candidates who missed out in Round 1 should watch the portal for that matrix, since it shows exactly which colleges and branches still have openings before they fill their preferences again.

What allotted candidates must do by November 6

Tuition fees can be paid online until 2 pm on November 6. Candidates who prefer to pay offline can deposit the fee at designated Axis Bank branches between November 2 and 6, also until 2 pm, during banking hours on working days.

Reporting runs at the designated help centres from November 2 to 6, between 10 am and 4 pm. Admission is confirmed only after document verification at the college, so candidates should carry the originals and photocopies of their NEET PG 2026 scorecard, MBBS degree, internship certificate and Medical Council registration, along with caste, EWS or PwD certificates where they apply. The fee varies by college and course, so the amount to pay is the one fixed for the allotted institute.

Candidates who want to check their allotment can download the lists from the official ACPPGMEC portal. The committee has published three documents: a merit-wise allotment list, an institute and branch-wise list, and a reporting advisory. Searching by NEET PG roll number or application number in the PDF shows the allotted college, branch and category.

Those still sorting out their documents can run through the admission documents checklist before the reporting visit, and candidates weighing whether to accept the seat or try for an upgrade in Round 2 can work through how to choose a university in India before the next round opens.
