Doctors who registered for Gujarat’s postgraduate medical counselling have a four-day window to lock in their preferences. The Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC) published the revised NEET PG 2026 merit list on October 27 and opened Round 1 online choice filling the same day.
The window closes at 10 AM on October 31. Candidates who qualified in NEET PG 2026 and completed registration on the state portal can log in and submit their course and college preferences for MD, MS and diploma seats. The committee has also published a tentative seat matrix, so applicants can check the category-wise distribution of seats before they finalise their choices.
What the revised list covers
The revised list follows the provisional merit lists published on October 22 and the correction window that closed on October 24. Separate rankings have been published for the General, SC, ST, SEBC and EWS categories, along with lists for in-service candidates and candidates under the Persons with Disability (PwD) and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quotas.
Two reservation figures matter for candidates checking their position. In-service candidates get 10 percent of the government quota seats, and PwD candidates get 5 percent of the available seats in each category. Before locking anything, check your name, rank and category in the revised list against your own records. A wrong category entry at this stage can change which seats you are considered for.
How to fill and lock your choices
Log in to the official counselling portal and open the Round 1 choice filling section. List your preferred courses and colleges in the order you would actually accept them, and check the tentative seat matrix alongside your list. There is no point listing a college you would turn down if allotted, since allotment follows the order you lock.
Lock your choices before the deadline. Once locked, preferences cannot be edited, so read the list back once before confirming. The committee will display the choices submitted by candidates at 12 noon on October 31, which gives you a chance to confirm that what the portal recorded matches what you intended.
Keep your documents ready while you work through the round. The official ACPPGMEC portal carries the merit lists and further notices, and our admission documents checklist runs through the paperwork that verification usually asks for.
What happens after October 31
Four counselling rounds are planned in all, so Round 1 is the start of the process rather than the only chance. After the choice filling window closes and the submitted choices are displayed, the committee will move to seat allotment for this round. Candidates should watch the official portal for the allotment result and the reporting instructions that follow it, instead of relying on second-hand updates.
If your name does not appear where you expected it in the revised list, go back to the merit list PDF and check the category and quota under which you were ranked. Errors caught now are easier to deal with than a wrong allotment later, and the committee’s own notices on the portal are the only reliable guide to what happens next.
