AYUSH postgraduate aspirants in Gujarat have until 10 am on Monday, November 9, to lock in their college choices. The Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses, or ACPPGMEC, opened Round 1 online choice filling on November 5 for MD/MS Ayurveda and MD Homoeopathy seats for the 2026-27 academic year.
The round covers 537 vacant seats. Of these, 264 are in MD/MS Ayurveda across nine colleges and 273 are in MD Homoeopathy across 16 colleges. Only candidates whose names appear on the ACPPGMEC merit list can take part, and seats are filled on the basis of AIAPGET scores.
How the 537 seats break down
Most of the seats fall under the government quota: 403 of the 537. The management quota accounts for 108 seats and the NRI quota for 26. In Ayurveda, the split is 202 government quota seats, 55 management quota seats and seven NRI seats. Homoeopathy has 201 government quota seats, 53 management quota seats and 19 NRI seats.
Two Vadodara institutes hold the largest Ayurveda blocks. The Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research has 72 vacant seats and the Parul Institute Ayurved has 65, together accounting for more than half of the Ayurveda seats on offer. J. S. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya in Nadiad follows with 42. Parul University runs both Vadodara institutes, and its two campuses alone carry 137 of the 264 Ayurveda seats.
On the Homoeopathy side, C. D. Pachchigar Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Surat has the most seats at 31. Baroda Homoeopathy College in Vadodara and S. S. Agrawal Homoeopathic Medical College in Navsari have 24 each. The remaining seats are spread across 13 more colleges in Ahmedabad, Anand, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Mehsana, Kalol, Limbdi and Gandhinagar.
What happens after November 9
Once the window closes at 10 am on November 9, the committee will display the choices candidates submitted at noon the same day. Allotment follows the merit list, and candidates can check their allotment status by logging in with their own user ID on the official ACPPGMEC portal.
Admission runs through five stages: online registration and document upload, preparation of the merit list, online choice filling and allotment, payment of tuition fees, and submission of original documents at a help centre. Candidates who get a seat will need their AIAPGET mark sheet, BAMS or BHMS mark sheets, internship completion certificate and registration with the state Ayurvedic or Homoeopathic council, along with caste, EWS or disability certificates where they apply.
The fee for a government institute covers one year, while self-financed institutes charge one term of six months, payable at designated Axis Bank branches. Candidates still sorting out their paperwork can run through the admission documents checklist before the reporting visit. Those weighing a government college against a self-financed one can work through how to choose a university in India before they lock their preferences, since a filled choice cannot be changed after the window closes.
