If the Faculty of Management Studies in Delhi is on your MBA list, the form you need is separate from the CAT form. The Faculty of Management Studies, part of the University of Delhi, has opened applications for its two-year full-time MBA for the 2027-29 batch. The window opened on October 26, 2026, and it closes on November 25, 2026.
That detail catches people out every year. Registering for CAT 2026 does not register you for FMS Delhi. The school runs its own application, and the form has to be in before the CAT result arrives.
Applications go through the official admission portal, linked from the official FMS website. The application fee is Rs 1,000 per programme for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and Rs 350 per programme for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Candidates should read the official information bulletin before submitting, and check every academic and category detail on the form, since errors in the application can be hard to fix later. Our admission documents checklist covers the kind of certificates and identity papers worth keeping ready before filling any admission form.
Who can apply
Applicants need a bachelor’s degree obtained after twelve years of formal schooling. The degree must be at least three years long, and it can be in any discipline.
For unreserved category candidates, the minimum is 50 percent aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA at graduation. Candidates from the SC and ST categories need passing marks in their qualifying degree. Candidates from the PwBD, CW and OBC categories need at least 45 percent aggregate marks.
Students in the final year of their bachelor’s degree can also apply. They must produce proof of completing the degree with the required marks by the date the university stipulates.
How FMS Delhi picks candidates
Shortlisting for the next rounds is based on CAT 2026. FMS Delhi does not treat the three CAT sections equally at this stage. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension carries 40 percent weight, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning carries 30 percent, and Quantitative Ability carries 30 percent.
The final admission list uses a composite score. The weighted CAT 2026 score counts for 50 percent. Class 10 marks count for 10 percent and Class 12 marks for 10 percent. The statement of purpose discussion counts for 10 percent, the extempore for 5 percent, and the personal interview for 15 percent.
School marks are scored on percentage slabs, with candidates scoring 75 percent or above getting the maximum weight for each of Class 10 and Class 12. Female candidates get an additional five marks at the final selection stage.
Dates to keep in view
The FMS Delhi application window runs from October 26 to November 25, 2026. The CAT 2026 admit card is scheduled for release on November 4 by IIM Indore, and the CAT exam itself is on November 29. That order matters for planning: the FMS form closes before candidates sit the exam, and well before results come out.
