The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is releasing the admit cards for the FMGE October 2026 session today, October 27. Candidates can download them from the applicant login on the official NBEMS portal, using the user ID and password created during registration. The exam itself is on October 31.

This is the document that gets a candidate into the exam hall. The city slip released on October 20 only named the city, so travel could be planned. The admit card carries the rest: the test centre address, the reporting time, and the entry closing time. Anyone who has not downloaded it yet should do so today rather than leaving it to October 30, when a login problem or a wrong detail leaves almost no room to fix.

What to check on the card

Go through every line once the PDF opens. The card lists the candidate’s name, roll number, application ID, date of birth, photograph, exam centre code and address, and the exam date and timings. If any of these do not match the application, or if the photograph is unclear, contact the NBEMS helpdesk on 022-61087595 or write to helpdesknbeexam@natboard.edu.in. Sorting out a mismatch at the centre gate, on exam morning, is a bad plan.

Carry a printed copy of the admit card along with an original government photo ID. The name, photograph and date of birth on the two documents should match. Candidates should also expect the usual checks at the centre, including frisking and biometric verification.

How to download the admit card

Open natboard.edu.in, go to the examinations section, and select FMGE. Choose the applicant login, enter the user ID and password, and complete the captcha. The admit card tab on the dashboard will show the document once it is live. Download the PDF, check the details listed above, and print it. Keep a second copy saved on the phone as backup, but the printed copy is the one to carry.

The exam on October 31

The FMGE October 2026 paper is a computer-based test of 300 multiple-choice questions, split into two parts. Each part runs for two and a half hours, and candidates need 150 marks out of 300 to pass. The exam runs in two shifts, with the morning shift starting at 9 am and the afternoon shift at 2 pm.

This October session is the additional one NBEMS added for 2026, taking the exam to three sessions a year. Registration ran from September 11 to September 25, the city intimation slip came out on October 20, and the admit card follows today. The chain matters because each stage has caught candidates out before: the city slip and the admit card are different documents, and one does not substitute for the other.

Who takes this exam

FMGE is the licensing exam for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India who earned their primary medical qualification from a recognised institution outside India and want to practise in the country. Clearing it is the step that lets doctors register with a state medical council and take up junior resident posts at Indian hospitals and medical colleges. Anyone weighing medical schools for the future can see how a major government medical university is structured in our profile of King George’s Medical University. Our admission documents checklist covers the paperwork and scans worth keeping ready before any exam application.
