University of Delhi has opened applications for 215 Assistant posts, and the window closes on November 19. These are additional vacancies advertised separately from the university’s October recruitment drive, so candidates who missed that round have another opening for a non-teaching role at the university.

The notification, Advertisement No. R&P/325/2026 dated October 29, 2026, covers Assistant (Additional Posts) under post code ND0401. The post sits in Pay Level 4 under the 7th Central Pay Commission. Applications are accepted online only, through the university’s official portal under its Work with DU section.

How the 215 seats break up

Of the 215 posts, 164 are for Unreserved candidates, 33 for Scheduled Caste candidates and 18 for Scheduled Tribe candidates. One post is reserved horizontally for a person with benchmark disability in the visually impaired category, and it sits within the total rather than on top of it. The university has said it may change the number of vacancies or the recruitment mode, so the final count could shift before selection begins.

Who can apply

A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is the basic qualification. Applicants also need two years of experience as a Junior Assistant or in an equivalent post. Typing speed matters too: 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi. The maximum age is 32 years as on the closing date.

That experience condition is the part most applicants should check first. These are administrative posts meant for people already working in similar roles, so a fresh graduate with no service record will not meet the criteria even with the right degree.

Fees and one exemption

The application fee is Rs 1,000 for Unreserved candidates, Rs 800 for OBC (non-creamy layer), EWS and female candidates, and Rs 600 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. It is paid online along with the form.

Candidates who applied under the earlier Advertisement No. R&P/311/2024 dated December 12, 2024, do not have to pay the fee again for this recruitment. If you applied in that round, the waiver should apply, but it is still worth confirming the position in the notification before submitting the form.

Selection process

Selection runs in three stages: a preliminary test, a main examination and a qualifying skill test, followed by document verification. The university has not announced exam dates yet, and admit cards will follow once the schedule is out. Keeping the paperwork ready helps at the verification stage, and the admission documents checklist covers the papers usually asked for.

How to apply, and the deadline catch

Apply online through the official Delhi University portal, under the Work with DU section. Read the full notification before paying the fee, because the experience and typing conditions will be checked against the closing date.

The closing date needs a careful read. The notification puts it at November 19, 2026, or two weeks from the date the advertisement appears in Employment News, whichever is later. Candidates should check the portal for the confirmed last date rather than assuming November 19 is final.
