Registered CLAT 2027 candidates get two official chances to sit a full-length rehearsal before the real exam. The Consortium of National Law Universities has scheduled online mock tests for November 10 and November 20, and both papers follow the same pattern as the December 6 exam.

The schedule came in a notification issued on November 6. Both mock tests are open to undergraduate and postgraduate applicants who registered for CLAT 2027. Registration closed on November 7, after the Consortium extended the deadline from October 31.

Two dates, one pattern

Each mock test runs for two hours and carries 120 multiple-choice questions, one mark each. Wrong answers cost 0.25 marks, and unanswered questions cost nothing. For undergraduates, the paper follows the familiar five-section structure: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques.

Candidates log in with their CLAT account credentials on the Consortium website to take the test. Once they finish, they can review their scores and performance. The Consortium has said candidates can take each mock test as many times as they want, which makes the two dates useful for tracking progress between now and December.

What the mock tests will not tell you

The Consortium describes the mock tests as practice material for self-assessment, and says they should not be treated as a guide to the final paper. Its notice cautions candidates against reading the subject distribution, difficulty level or question pattern of a mock test as a promise about what the December paper will look like.

That matters because a mock test measures preparation, and the December paper is a different paper. A strong score on November 10 is a useful signal, and a weak one points to the gaps that need work in the weeks left. Neither says much about the paper on December 6.

The December 6 exam

CLAT 2027 will be held on Sunday, December 6, from 2 pm to 4 pm, in offline pen-and-paper mode at centres across India. Scores decide admission to five-year integrated LLB programmes and one-year LLM courses at 26 participating National Law Universities for the academic year 2027-28. Among them are the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru and NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, two of the most sought-after law schools in the country.

Admit cards are expected in November, though the Consortium has not announced an exact date yet. Candidates will download them from the official CLAT 2027 portal using their login credentials.

A few practical points from the Consortium’s instructions: use a stable internet connection, and do not press submit until the attempt is complete, because submitting ends the session. Our guide to the admission documents checklist covers the paperwork most universities ask for, and the same habit applies here. Check every entry against the original documents before exam day, so a small error does not cause trouble later.
