If you are still without an MBBS or BDS seat in Chhattisgarh, the clock is ticking. The Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh, opened registration for Round 4 of NEET UG 2026 counselling today, October 17, and the window closes tomorrow, October 18, at 5 PM. Candidates have just over a day to register, pay the fee, and lock their college choices.
The final state round
Round 4 is the stray vacancy round of the Chhattisgarh state quota counselling. It fills the MBBS and BDS seats left vacant after the earlier rounds across the state’s medical and dental colleges. The DME has also published the Round 4 seat matrix on the official counselling portal, so candidates can check exactly which seats are still open before they choose.
The two-day schedule
Registration opened on October 17, 2026. The last date to complete registration is October 18, 2026, by 5 PM. Choice filling and locking run on October 17 and 18, with the same 5 PM deadline on October 18. No extension has been announced, and candidates are advised to finish the process well before the deadline and to check every detail carefully before locking their choices.
How to register
Candidates must apply on the official DME Chhattisgarh counselling portal. Enter your NEET UG credentials and personal details to start the registration, then pay the required fee. After that, select your preferred medical and dental colleges in order of preference and lock the choices. Save or download the confirmation page once the submission is complete, since locked choices cannot be changed later.
Before filling choices, study the Round 4 seat matrix PDF on the portal and compare the vacant seats college by college. If several colleges have openings in the same round, our how to choose a university in India guide can help you rank them sensibly.
Who can apply
The round is open to NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates seeking MBBS and BDS admission under the Chhattisgarh state quota. Have the paperwork ready now: the NEET admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, domicile and category certificates where applicable, and a valid ID proof. The admission documents checklist covers what these portals typically ask for.
Miss the 5 PM deadline tomorrow and this round closes with it. The stray vacancy round is the final scheduled phase of the state’s NEET UG counselling for 2026, so there is no later round of state quota seats to fall back on.
