October 27, 11:59 PM. That is the deadline for registering in the first round of Chhattisgarh’s NEET PG 2026 counselling. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) in Raipur opened online registration and choice filling together on October 22, so candidates in this round are doing both in one sitting.
The round covers state quota MD, MS and PG Diploma seats in government and private medical colleges across Chhattisgarh. The DME released the Round 1 seat matrix the same day, and candidates would do well to read it before they lock anything.
Registration closes October 27, choice locking on October 28
The schedule is tight and splits across two nights. Online registration opened at 11:00 AM on October 22 and closes at 11:59 PM on October 27. Choice filling and locking also opened on October 22 but run a day longer, closing at 11:59 PM on October 28. Anyone who registers on the last day gets only a short window to fill and lock preferences, so doing it earlier is the safer move.
Everything runs on the official CG counselling portal, managed by DME Raipur. The flow is simple: register with a valid email ID and mobile number, fill the application form, upload the required documents and keep a printout after submitting. The schedule, seat matrix and full instructions sit on the same portal, and that notice is the final word on any change.
Who can apply
Only candidates who qualified NEET PG 2026 and scored above the qualifying cutoff are eligible. Allotment follows NEET PG rank, the locked choices and reservation rules. The state usually runs further rounds after this one, but Round 1 is where the widest set of seats is on the table.
This state quota counselling is separate from the All India Quota run by MCC. If you are weighing the two routes, our guide on central vs state vs private universities explains how the quotas and the colleges under them differ.
Read the seat matrix before locking choices
The seat matrix is the document that decides whether a choice list works. It lays out college-wise, speciality-wise and category-wise seat counts for Round 1. Locking preferences without reading it means risking high-priority slots on seats your rank cannot reach, or skipping colleges where you would have landed comfortably.
Keep your documents ready before you start. The form asks for scanned certificates, the NEET PG scorecard and identity proof, and our admission documents checklist covers what to keep in order.
