The window closes at 5 pm today. The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Puducherry, is accepting online applications for NEET PG 2026 counselling for MD and MS courses, and October 27, 2026, is the last date to submit them. Anyone still planning to apply should finish the form and the fee payment well before the evening, since the portal is the only route in.

The counselling covers postgraduate medical seats in Puducherry for the 2026-27 academic session, under three quotas: Government Quota, Management Quota and Management-Telugu Minority Quota. The Government Quota seats are restricted to residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Management and Management-Telugu Minority Quota seats are open to all eligible candidates.

Why fresh applications opened now

CENTAC issued the notification on October 20, 2026. Alongside fresh application submission, it opened Round 3 registration for existing candidates. The fresh window matters because the NEET PG 2026 cut-off was lowered, which made a new set of candidates eligible for counselling. Those candidates can now enter the process instead of waiting for the next cycle.

Candidates apply through the official CENTAC portal. The committee has said the seat matrix is not uploaded yet. It will be published once the relevant information arrives from the competent authorities, so applicants should keep checking the portal for the seat position under their quota rather than assuming a number.

What the application costs

The fee depends on the quota and category, and CENTAC has stated that it is non-refundable in every case. Under the Government Quota, candidates from the SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities categories pay Rs 1,500, while candidates from other categories pay Rs 3,000. For Management Quota and Management-Telugu Minority Quota seats, the fee is Rs 5,000.

That difference is worth noting before choosing a quota. A candidate who applies under the wrong quota, or who pays and then decides not to proceed, does not get the money back.

What to have ready before 5 pm

CENTAC has asked applicants to keep their academic credentials and medical certificates ready before they start, since the seat allocation that follows will rely on the details entered in this registration phase. The admission documents checklist covers the kind of paperwork that typically needs to be scanned and uploaded for a counselling application, and it is worth running through before the deadline rather than after it.

Two warnings in the notification deserve attention. CENTAC has said that applications claiming nativity or residency in multiple states, or furnishing fake certificates to claim quota benefits, will be rejected, with legal action possible under the law in force. It has also said that submitting duplicate applications will lead to rejection of both applications and cancellation of candidature. One careful application beats two rushed ones.

Puducherry’s higher education scene also includes Pondicherry University, the territory’s central university, but this CENTAC round is only for postgraduate medical seats in medical colleges. Candidates should not confuse the two processes.

What happens after today

Once applications close, CENTAC will move to merit lists and seat allotment for the MD and MS seats. The committee has not yet announced the full round schedule beyond this application window, so the portal remains the place to watch for the merit list and choice-filling dates. Candidates with questions can contact the CENTAC helpline on 0413-2655570 or 0413-2655571.
