The wait is over for CAT 2026 candidates. The Indian Institute of Management Indore, which is conducting this year’s Common Admission Test, released the admit cards on Friday, November 6, two days after the original date. Registered candidates can now download their hall tickets from the official CAT website, using the login ID and password created at registration.
The release had been scheduled for November 4. IIM Indore pushed it to November 6, and the link went live on the revised date. The exam itself has not moved. It will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2026.
How to download the admit card
The hall ticket is available only through the candidate login on the official portal. No printed copy will be sent by post.
- Visit the official CAT website.
- Click on the registered candidate login link.
- Enter your user ID and password.
- Open the admit card download link on the dashboard.
- Download the PDF and take a clear printout.
The download window stays open till November 29, the day of the exam. Download early: portals slow down when lakhs of candidates log in at once, and a printout checked early leaves time to fix a wrong name or photograph.
Check every detail on the card
The admit card carries the candidate’s name, photograph, roll number, exam centre name and address, test slot and reporting time. Read each of these against the registration form as soon as the PDF is downloaded. If anything does not match, contact the CAT helpdesk and get it corrected before exam day.
Our admission documents checklist covers the papers centres commonly ask for.
What to carry on exam day
Only a printed copy of the admit card will be allowed inside the exam centre. Digital copies on a phone are not accepted. A valid government ID proof, such as Aadhaar, PAN or a driving licence, must be carried along with it.
Mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices and other electronic items are banned inside the centre. Late arrivals will not be allowed in, so reach the centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time on the card.
Exam day: November 29
CAT 2026 will be held as a computer-based test on November 29 in three sessions. The first session runs from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, the second from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and the third from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Centres are spread across 170 cities, and each candidate’s session is printed on their admit card.
The test has three sections: verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and quantitative ability. The official mock test, which carries sample questions to familiarise candidates with the exam format and the computer interface, is also available on the CAT website from November 6.
CAT is the gateway to postgraduate management programmes at the IIMs and several other business schools.
Download the card now, check every detail on it, try the mock test, and keep the printout safe until November 29.
