Ten o’clock tonight is the cut-off. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) opened a special stray vacancy round of UGMAC 2026 on November 4, and registration for it closes at 10 PM on November 8. There are 138 vacant MBBS seats in this round: 11 in government medical colleges and 127 in private colleges, including one NRI-quota seat.
UGMAC is Bihar’s counselling for undergraduate medical admission. This round is for candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 and still have no seat. The all-India special stray round run by the Medical Counselling Committee announced its result on November 7, and Bihar’s own round now covers state-quota seats on a similar schedule.
Where the seats are
Only 11 of the 138 seats are in government colleges. Patna Medical College and Hospital has one and Nalanda Medical College and Hospital has two. The other six sit with BMIMS Pawapuri, ESIC Medical College Bihta, and the government medical colleges in Bettiah, Purnia, Madhepura and Bhagalpur.
Private colleges hold the rest. Mamata Medical College in Siwan has 46 seats and Virat Ramayan Institute of Medical Sciences in East Champaran has 38. Mahabodhi Medical College and Buddha Hospital and Research Institute in Gayaji have 16 and 14. The remaining 13 seats are spread across eight smaller private colleges. Four colleges between them hold 114 of the 138 seats, so most candidates will be looking at the same short list.
The round also covers the fifth round of counselling for BDS, B.V.Sc. and A.H. and B.F.Sc. courses, but the published seat matrix lists MBBS seats only.
Who can apply
This round is open to NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates who have not secured admission to any medical or dental college. That covers candidates who never registered for UGMAC earlier, and candidates who registered but did not submit the application or pay the fee. Candidates who already applied need to give their consent between November 4 and 8.
One group is kept out. Candidates who got a seat in the earlier stray round and did not take admission are not eligible, under a BCECEB notice dated October 18.
The dates
Registration closes at 10 PM on November 8. Application submission, fee payment and corrections run till 11:59 PM the same night, and the consent window for candidates who already applied closes at the same time.
The rank card comes out on November 9. Choice filling, corrections and locking run till 11:59 PM on November 9. The provisional seat allotment result is due on November 11. Enrolment and document verification follow on November 12 and 13, and document discrepancies have to be rectified by 5 PM on November 13.
How to apply
Apply on the official BCECEB portal, in the UGMAC 2026 section. Register with the NEET UG 2026 roll number and personal details, upload the documents the portal asks for, and finish the payment before the 11:59 PM deadline tonight.
