Two days is all that separates allottees from admission now. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has published the provisional seat allotment result for the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round on its official portal, dme.assam.gov.in. Anyone who finds a seat against their name must report physically to the allotted college on October 25 or 26, 2026.

This is the last round of state-level counselling for this session. The stray vacancy round covers the MBBS and BDS seats that stayed vacant after the three regular rounds across the government medical and dental colleges of Assam, and no further round is scheduled after this one.

What led to this list

Registration for the stray round ran on October 17, 2026, on the DME portal. Choice filling and locking followed on October 18 and 19. Only candidates who completed the process in that window feature in the allotment now published.

The result is issued as a PDF notification in the Latest section of the DME website. Each entry in the list names the allotted college, the course, the category quota, and the candidate’s merit position. Candidates should open the official PDF and search it by NEET UG roll number, name, or state rank, then download the individual allotment letter from the candidate login. The DME advises against relying on third-party lists for confirmation.

Who made it to this round

The stray round was open to NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates eligible under the Assam MBBS/BDS admission rules. Candidates already holding a seat allotted through the Medical Counselling Committee or the state rounds after Round 3 could not take part. With the allotment out, the one task left for allottees is to complete admission at the college within the reporting window.

Reporting: what to carry

Physical reporting happens on October 25 and October 26, 2026, at the office of the Principal of the allotted medical or dental college. Candidates must present original documents for verification, including the NEET UG 2026 scorecard, the Assam Permanent Resident Certificate, and the category certificate where applicable, along with the admission fee. Missing this two-day window means losing the allotted seat, because the 2026-27 counselling cycle closes after this round. Our admission documents checklist covers the full set of papers worth carrying to the college.
