The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, publishes the Round 1 selection list for Assam NEET PG 2026 today, November 2. The list is the document candidates have been waiting for since choice filling closed: it names, college by college and subject by subject, who has provisionally secured a postgraduate seat, and it sets out the modalities for admission.
Candidates can check the list on the official DME Assam portal. The directorate publishes its counselling notices there, and the Round 1 result appears as a college-wise and subject-wise list of provisionally selected candidates. If your name is on it, the next step is fixed: report to the allotted institution on November 9 or 10, 2026.
What the November 2 list settles
This round covers 50 percent of postgraduate seats in government medical colleges of Assam and the Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, under the Assam state quota for the 2026 session. The seats are for MD, MS and postgraduate diploma courses, and allotment follows the choices candidates locked in during the choice filling window.
The November 2 list follows a provisional allotment list published on November 1, which was for viewing only. The final selection list is the one that counts for admission, and it arrives with the modalities candidates must follow when they report.
How the round got here
Registration for Round 1 opened on October 21 and was first set to close on October 25. The directorate later extended it to October 28, after an educational notice dated October 26. Choice filling ran from October 26 to 28, with locking on October 28, and seat allotment was processed over October 29 to November 1.
Eligibility for the round rested on the revised state provisional merit list. After incentive marks were added, that list carried 3,585 candidates. To take part, a candidate had to have appeared in NEET PG 2026, met the cutoff percentiles set by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, and found their name and roll number in the state list.
What selected candidates should do next
Reporting happens on November 9 and 10 only, so selected candidates should not leave the visit to the second day if they can avoid it. Carry the documents the allotted institution asks for, and read the admission modalities published with the selection list before travelling, since those instructions govern how admission is completed at each college.
Our admission documents checklist covers the papers that usually come up at reporting, from the allotment letter and NEET PG scorecard to MBBS marksheets and registration certificates. Checking each one against the list before November 9 saves a wasted trip.
Candidates who do not find their name in the Round 1 list are not out of the process. Later rounds follow the same state quota counselling, and the directorate will publish their schedules on the same portal. For now, the November 2 list is the result that decides who reports next week.
