Assam NEET PG 2026: Round 1 Choice Filling Open Today, Lock by October 30

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, opened Round 1 choice filling for NEET PG 2026 counselling today, October 29. Candidates who registered in time and appear on the provisional merit list can now log in to the official portal and rank the courses and colleges they want.
The round covers 50 per cent of the postgraduate seats in Assam’s government medical colleges and the Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, under the Assam State Quota. The seats are for MD, MS and Diploma courses for the 2026 session. The government medical colleges taking part are affiliated with Assam’s health sciences university, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.
Revised Round 1 schedule
Choice filling runs from October 29 to October 30, up to 5 PM. Choice locking follows on October 30, from 4 PM to 11:55 PM. Candidates who do not lock their choices manually will have them locked automatically once the window closes, so the last saved order becomes the final one.
Registration for this round closed at 11:59 PM on October 28, after DME Assam extended the deadline. Only candidates who completed registration in time can take part in choice filling now.
DME Assam will process the allotments on October 31 and November 1. The Round 1 result comes out on November 2, with a college-wise and subject-wise list of provisionally selected candidates and the modalities of admission. Candidates who get a seat must report to their allotted institution on November 9 or 10.
How to fill your choices
To fill choices, candidates go to the official DME Assam PG admission portal, open the Assam State NEET PG 2026 online counselling link, and log in with their registration details. From there, they select courses and colleges from the list and arrange them in order of preference.
The order deserves care. Allotment follows merit and the preference list a candidate submits, so the course and college a candidate most wants should sit at the top of the list. It is worth finishing well before the 5 PM deadline on October 30, since a last-minute rush leaves no room to fix a wrong entry or a failed upload.
