Postgraduate aspirants in Andhra Pradesh have until today to finish their college preferences. The web options window for AP PGCET 2026 Phase 2 counselling closes on October 14. Candidates who have not filled their options yet should do so today, since allotment is based on the options submitted.

AP PGCET is the entrance test for postgraduate admission in Andhra Pradesh. The Phase 2 counselling round is run by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and the Commissionerate of Higher Education, and it fills PG seats at state-funded universities, constituent colleges and affiliated colleges. Candidates applying to Andhra University or Sri Venkateswara University go through the same portal and the same schedule.

The dates that matter

The Phase 2 schedule is short, and every step has a fixed date.

Web options run from October 12 to 14. Candidates can change or reorder their choices on October 15, for one day only. After that, the choices are locked and processed. The Phase 2 seat allotment result will be declared on October 17.

Allotted candidates must complete self-reporting and report to their colleges between October 21 and 24. Classes begin on October 21.

Online certificate verification runs alongside the counselling process until October 15. Candidates whose certificates are already verified can go straight to web options. The whole process runs on the official AP PGCET admission portal.

How web options work

Web options are the list of colleges and courses you would accept, in order of preference. You log in to the portal, pick your courses and colleges, and arrange them from most to least preferred. The allotment is then processed against the options you submitted.

Order matters. Put a college you would not actually join at the top, and you may get a seat you do not want while a seat you did want goes to someone else. Our guide on how to choose a university in India covers how to weigh fees, location and course strength before you rank your options.

Registration for Phase 2 ran from October 8 to 11, so only candidates who registered in that window can exercise web options now. If you registered but have not filled options yet, today is your last chance.

What to do after allotment

Check the portal on October 17 for your allotment. If you get a seat, download the allotment letter and keep a copy. You will need it at reporting.

Reporting runs from October 21 to 24. Carry your original certificates and photocopies for verification at the college. Our admission documents checklist lists the paperwork colleges usually ask for, so you can get it ready before reporting day instead of scrambling.

Classes begin on October 21, so reporting and the start of term overlap. Plan your travel to the allotted college in advance if it is in another city.
