Today is the last day to fix an AIBE XXII application. The Bar Council of India’s correction window, which opened on October 29, closes on October 30, 2026. Anyone who spots an error in a submitted form has until the end of today to correct it through the official AIBE portal.

Registration for the exam opened on August 19 and closed on October 27. The fee payment deadline followed a day later, on October 28. That second date decides who can use the correction window. Candidates who paid by October 28 can log in and edit permitted details. Candidates who did not finish payment cannot.

Who can use the correction window

The facility is open only to registered candidates whose fee payment went through by the October 28 deadline. If the payment failed or was never made, the form cannot be edited now, and the candidate cannot move ahead to the exam.

For those who are eligible, the process is short. Log in to the candidate account on the official portal, open the application form, change the permitted fields, check the updated details, and submit. Saving a copy of the corrected form is worth doing, since the submitted version is the one the Bar Council of India will hold on record.

Before opening the form, it helps to have the corrected details and the supporting documents ready. Our admission documents checklist covers the papers worth keeping on hand before any entrance form, and the same habit applies here: decide what needs changing first, then make the edit in one sitting.

Four details that stay locked

Not every field can be changed. The Bar Council of India has kept four details locked through the correction window: caste category, examination city preferences, registered email ID and registered mobile number. A candidate who picked the wrong exam city or entered the wrong contact details cannot fix those fields now, and will have to work with what was submitted.

That makes the rest of the form worth a careful read. Name spellings, parent names, date of birth, photograph, signature and academic details are the kind of entries candidates usually check at this stage, since an error there can cause trouble at document verification later. Anything that cannot be edited should be noted now, so there are no surprises when the admit card arrives.

What happens next

The All India Bar Examination is the qualifying test law graduates must clear to receive a Certificate of Practice from the Bar Council of India. Graduates of National Law University Delhi and other law schools take the same paper. The XXII edition of the exam is scheduled for November 29, 2026, and admit cards are scheduled for release on November 14, 2026.

The paper will have 100 objective questions, with one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking for wrong answers. That format rewards attempting every question, but the correction window closing today is the more urgent date. Once it shuts, the form as it stands is final.
