Choice filling for AIAPGET postgraduate counselling was supposed to open today, October 27. Instead, candidates are waiting. A day earlier, on October 26, the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) said the postgraduate counselling process for the 2026-27 session stands withheld until further notice, citing administrative reasons.

The notice landed one week after AACCC had published the full counselling schedule on October 20. Candidates who had planned around that timetable now have to set it aside and wait for a fresh one.

What the October 26 notice says

AACCC said the counselling process has been withheld and that a revised schedule and seat matrix will be announced and uploaded on the official website, aaccc.gov.in. The committee gave no date for when counselling will resume, and it did not explain the administrative reasons beyond that phrase.

That leaves one clear instruction for candidates: do not treat the earlier dates as confirmed. Anyone who had marked the old Round 1 deadlines should wait for the revised schedule before making plans around registration, choice filling or reporting.

The dates now in doubt

Under the schedule published on October 20, Round 1 registration and payment were set for October 26 to November 1, with choice filling from October 27 to November 1. Seat allotment processing was due on November 2, the allotment result on November 3, and reporting at allotted institutes from November 4 to 13.

The wider plan covered three regular rounds followed by a stray vacancy round in two allotment phases. All of that now depends on the revised schedule AACCC has promised. Until it appears, none of those dates can be relied on, and candidates should not assume the later rounds will simply shift by a fixed number of days.

Who this affects

The pause affects candidates who qualified in the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2026 and are seeking MD and MS seats in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy for the 2026-27 session.

The central process covers All India Quota seats in government and government-aided institutions, seats in central universities and national institutes, seats in deemed universities, and specified institutional quota seats. It also covers the internal seats of Banaras Hindu University’s Faculty of Ayurveda. For these seats, the AACCC portal is the single central route, so a pause here holds up the whole admission chain for this group of aspirants.

What to do now

Check the official AACCC portal regularly, and watch its PG counselling page for the revised schedule and seat matrix. That is where the committee has said the new dates will be uploaded, and it is the only source worth acting on.

Use the wait to get documents in order. At reporting time, candidates typically need the AIAPGET scorecard and admit card, the allotment letter, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, the BAMS, BUMS, BSMS or BHMS degree and mark sheets, the internship completion certificate, a valid category certificate where applicable, and a government photo ID. Our admission documents checklist explains how to keep those scans ready before a deadline lands.

Do not pay a fee, book travel or report to an institute on the strength of the old timetable. The October 26 notice supersedes it, and the next confirmed step will be whatever the revised schedule says.
