The application window for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s BTech programmes opens in November. The university has confirmed the month on its admission website, but the exact start date and the last date to apply are still to come. Students planning to apply should check the portal regularly, since the exam dates are already fixed.
Exam window already fixed
The Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering (AEEE) 2027 will run from April 15 to May 7, 2027, in computer-based test mode. That window leaves roughly five months between the opening of registrations and the exam, which is the stretch most applicants will use for preparation and slot booking.
Slot booking, admit cards and results will follow the registration window. None of those dates has been published yet, so the November opening is the only date applicants can act on right now.
Two routes into BTech
Amrita fills its BTech seats through two routes. Seventy percent of seats go to candidates who qualify through AEEE. The remaining 30 percent are filled on JEE Main percentiles. Applicants can apply through either route, or both, subject to the university’s admission rules.
That split matters for students who already plan to sit JEE Main. A JEE Main percentile alone can carry an application, but the larger share of seats still runs through AEEE, so skipping the university’s own exam narrows the options.
Who can apply
The eligibility bar is set at Class 12. Applicants need at least 55 percent aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 50 percent in each of the three subjects separately. Applicants must also have been born on or after July 1, 2006.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a deemed-to-be university headquartered at Coimbatore, with campuses across South India.
What to keep ready
Before the portal link goes live, applicants should have their Class 10 and Class 12 details at hand, along with a working mobile number and email address, personal and identification details, and a photograph and other documents the form asks for. Our admission documents checklist covers the papers most universities ask for at this stage.
The university has also warned applicants against agents and intermediaries. Applications go only through the official AEEE portal, and no third party can secure a seat. Anyone asking for payment outside that portal is not part of the admission process.
Students still weighing Amrita against other engineering options can work through our guide to choosing a university in India before the window opens.
