Registration for the first stray vacancy round of AYUSH undergraduate counselling opens tomorrow, November 3. This is the last round in which candidates can still register fresh. The second stray vacancy round will reuse the choices submitted in this round, so anyone who sits this one out will have no fresh entry point left.
The Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) runs the round for undergraduate Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homoeopathy courses. It covers the 15 percent all-India quota seats in government and government-aided colleges, along with seats in central universities, national institutes and deemed universities. Admission is based on NEET UG 2026 scores, across BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS and BNYS programmes.
The stray vacancy round 1 timeline
Registration and fee payment open on November 3 and close on November 9. Registration closes at 2 pm that day, while the payment facility stays open till 5 pm. A registration without payment does not count for allotment, so candidates should finish both steps well before the cutoffs rather than leaving payment for the last hour.
Choice filling opens on November 4 and runs till 11:55 pm on November 9. AACCC processes the allotment on November 10 and 11 and declares the result on November 12. Candidates who get a seat must report to their allotted institute between November 13 and November 18 to complete admission formalities.
How to register
Register on the official AACCC UG counselling page using your NEET UG 2026 details, then pay the fee and fill your choices in order of preference. Put colleges you would actually join at the top of the list. A stray vacancy seat, once allotted and accepted, leaves little room to wait for a better option in a later round, since the next round draws on these same choices.
Keep the documents ready before reporting day: NEET admit card and scorecard, allotment letter, Class 10 and 12 marksheets and a photo ID, plus whatever else the allotted institute asks for. Our admission documents checklist covers the full set so nothing is left for the last evening.
Which institutes are in the choice list
The all-India quota pool includes institutes such as Banaras Hindu University and its Institute of Medical Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University and the National Institute of Ayurveda in Jaipur. Before locking a college, check that it holds valid recognition for 2026-27. Earlier this session, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine withheld recognition from several Ayurveda colleges, and a seat in an unrecognised college is not worth a locked choice.
State and UT quota seats do not follow this schedule. State counselling authorities run their own stray vacancy rounds on separate dates, so state quota candidates should watch their state AYUSH directorate notice rather than the AACCC dates.
What happens after round 1
Stray vacancy round 2 brings no fresh registration and no fresh choice filling. AACCC processes allotment on November 23 using the round 1 choices, declares the result on November 24, and asks allotted candidates to report between November 25 and November 30. That is also the last date for AYUSH undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 session, so round 2 reporting closes the admission cycle.
