career options for commerce/arts/humanities

  1. Hello,
    If you are from Commerce,arts or humanities background then you have a good option to make career in the lectureship and research field
    You need to do masters in the given field and apply for UGC NET Exam
    You can prepare for the exam by the help of UGC Previous Papers
    The exam is conducted in two phases
    Phase 1- Questions are asked from the General aptitude and is common for all streams
    Phase 2- Questions are asked from the Subject opted by students

    JRF Age limit is extended to 30 years as it was 28 years whereas the Reserved categories aspirants has 5 year age relaxation as recommended


    If you qualify the NET Exam you can
    • Get UGC scholarships worth INR 25000 whereas you can also get Recommended HRA
    • You will get a score card through which you can get job in various National and International Companies
    • You can get job in various govt. and UGC Approved colleges as a lecturer

    2Company Secretary Program (CS):

    This is a professional course offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. After course completion, you can either work independently or choose to work on professional sectors.

    CMA:

    This course is provided by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or ICAI. CMA’s maintain the cost accounting records; does cost auditing, and makes plans, control the cost of products.

    B.Com. & B.Com(Hons.):

    This is a UG degree which can be taken up by commerce students and students from Arts and Science stream as well. It’s a general course, that makes you ready for other professional courses eventually.

    Bachelor In Economics:

    Under this UG program, you would get practical knowledge about several economic concepts and policies. This gives an extra advantage if you aspire to become an IAS.

    BBA:

    Like all the above-mentioned courses, this also has duration of 3 years. With this knowledge, you can explore various business courses. After doing BBA you can opt for MBA to get a better career ahead with a handsome salary.

    BMS:

    A 3years course duration which focuses you to gain practical knowledge about leadership and managerial skills.

    BCA:

    BCA could be the choice of the field if you wish to learn the computer language and have a career in the IT sector. The course duration is for 3 years.

    Chartered Financial Analyst:

    CFA Program is also a Professional course after CA & CS. But this course after 12th commerce demands higher eligibility Criteria:

    4-years bachelor’s degree

    4 years of work experience

    Passport is a must to enrol in this programme and for the exams
