Appejay School Admission, Curriculum & Review

    Admission to Nursery
    Advertisement for the registration to Nursery is published in leading newspapers in the month of September each year.
    Eligibility: Age should be between three and four years as on March 31st of the academic session in which the child seeks admission.
    The children are admitted as per the guidelines laid.
    Admission to Classes KG to IX
    Admissions are done strictly on the basis of number of seats available. The admission process for KG to IX starts in the month of February each year.
    Admission is granted according to the assessment for appropriate placement.
    Admission to Class XI
    Admissions are offered in two streams i.e. Science and Commerce, after the declaration of the Class X CBSE Board results.
    Admission in a particular stream is based on the class X Board results.
    The list of the candidates who qualify is displayed in the month of June.
    Pre Primary - Curriculum

    The Pre-Primary wing of Apeejay School, Noida has Nursery and Kindergarten classes.
    “The innovative curriculum for the Pre-Primary” published by Council for Educational and Professional Services (CEPS) is in use with the objective of reinforcing values, concepts, ideas, skills and activities. A day wise planner for each month is sent on the first day of the month for the parents’ convenience. This gives them a clear picture of the fun activities that their child will be participating in.
    We follow the schedule and programmes with a fair amount of flexibility. Changes are made from time to time as demanded by the environment and the emerging situations in the classroom. Following subjects are taught in Pre-Primary : English, Hindi, Number Work, Environmental Studies, Music, Art & Craft
    The students are graded regularly on the basis of participation and performance in class activities. The report card is sent twice a year, in September and March.

    Primary Curriculum

    The Primary education module is designed to follow the axiom “Discovering the syllabus is more important than covering it.” We believe that the student should have mental access to assimilation along with physical access to learning. In accordance, the working schedules of classes I and II have been designed in such a way that they have “short respite” periods after every 45 minutes of learning. This helps them to come back ready and refreshed for the next session of classroom learning. The concept of “classroom library” (classes I to V) gives the students direct access to books in their own classroom. Every day after assembly, 10 minutes of reading time enhances and enriches their language skills.

    Children idolize their teachers to capitalize on this. Every day there is “Guru Vani” where a teacher expresses her thoughts on any topic through stories, anecdotes etc.

    Classes VI – VIII
    In this stage learning takes the course of interactive methodology whereby the students are encouraged to actively participate in classroom discussions and be a part of the learning process. The classroom teaching is complemented by regular practical experiments and assignments given at the end of the month which go beyond the text. These assignments are both informative and practically oriented.

    The main subjects taught are English, Mathematics, Hindi, German, Sanskrit, Environmental Studies, General Science, Social Studies, General Knowledge, Computer Science, Art, Yoga, Music, Dance, Vocal and Instrumental music and Physical Education.
    There are two terms in one academic session:
    Term1 –Two formative assessments (FA1 & FA2) followed by First Summative Assessment ( SA1).
    Term2 - Two formative assessments (FA3 + FA4) followed by Second Summative Assessment (SA2).
    Classes IX –X

    The curriculum in this stage is designed to encourage higher order thinking, reasoning, analytical and logical applications. Students are prepared for the CBSE Board Examinations. The social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of students are addressed in this crucial period of transition from childhood to adulthood.

    The subjects taught are English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Environmental Studies, General Knowledge and Introductory Information Technology
    There are two terms in one academic session:
    Term1 –Two formative assessments (FA1 & FA2) followed by First Summative Assessment ( SA1).

    Classes XI –XII
    In Grade XI, students can opt for the Science or Commerce stream, which enables them to appear for the All India Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by the CBSE. The main aim is to instill self-confidence and self efficacy in students so as to outshine in the competitive world and equip them with positive behavior, knowledge, leadership skills and an understanding of human values and ethics.

    Streams offered are:
    Stream A: English (Functional), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science(C++) / Biotechnology/Economics
    Stream B: English (Functional), Mathematics/ Computer Science(C++), Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/Multimedia and Web Technology
